Avenga is looking for a Java Engineer in Europe to join our team. The project is an innovative fintech platform for connecting various market participants such as dealers and clients and enabling the trading of structured investment products between them. 

As a Java Engineer, you will take part in delivering cutting-edge, high-quality solutions to solve business problems.

What you bring along:

  • 3 years of experience with Java and frameworks (Java 17+, Spring, and Spring Boot);
  • Strong understanding of coding standards: Knowledge of design patterns and best practices;
  • Experience with API Development: Skilled in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs;
  • Familiar with MySQL operations, paradigms, and SQL;
  • Experience with JPA and Hibernate: Capable of handling ORM, including resolving N+1 issues;
  • Proficient in unit and integration testing: Ensures code quality and reliability;
  • Proficiency with Git and Gradle;
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and related tools like Jenkins;
  • Upper-Intermediate English level and higher.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of AWS and its services;
  • Experience in Troubleshooting and Monitoring: Knowledge of DataDog, logging, and metrics for performance monitoring/tuning;
  • Familiarity with Jasper Reports.

This is your mission: 

  • Write clean, maintainable, test-covered code and work with our product team;
  • Do strong code reviews, ensuring not only best practices and business rules, but also performance, security, and impact on other features or projects, and always with respectful and constructive communication;
  • Work within your team to negotiate and document standards and practices in software development;
  • Research and shape multiple alternative technical solutions when possible;
  • Assume end-to-end ownership of the team projects‘ delivery;
  • Manage the technical documentation in your team;
  • Self-identify gaps, problems, and needs, and create robust solutions with relative freedom.
